No work today. Roads completely flooded in multiple places. The brook running high and fast too.

A wet but fresh and alive autumnal morning. The brook running fast and clear. Everything glistening, even the rich red leaves underfoot.
I made it in to work today. Second time lucky. Roads still officially closed and strewn with abandoned cars but the water has finally receded off the roads leaving the surrounding fields looking like lakes.
The brook is running lower and clear again now after the deluge.
The stream beside the house has gone from a clear trickle to a raging muddy torrent in a couple of hours.
